Meet Our Director

Bonjour! Je m’appelle Elizabeth Porter and I am the owner of Bon Voyage French School! Bienvenue! I am so glad you’re here!

I am a National Board Certified French teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in French and Linguistics, a Master’s degree in Education and a French degree called a DEUG in French as a Foreign Language (FLE). I have a passion for France and all things French!
I spent several years living in France. I went to college in Normandy, France and I also spent a significant amount of time in Paris. I taught elementary and middle school English in Normandy! When I returned to the United States, I taught for 3 years at the French Immersion School of Washington and then I taught High School French for several years.
My unique method of teaching language not only promotes fluency, but also reduces brain and sensory issues making it ideal for accommodating all learning styles and special needs.

For years I had a dream to start my own French program and show others the France that I see. I feel that my calling is not only to teach language, but also culture and cultural understanding. My goal is to help people see how others in the world live, and to spread love throughout the world. Our immersion programs are unique and the only programs of their kind offered in the United States. Our immersion partner in France has developed these unique travel programs just for Bon Voyage and I am SO excited to be able to offer them to you!
